Introduction to Common Electronic Components – Part 1

Below, you can see some of the most commonly used electronic components.

1. Resistor :
   A resistor is a passive electronic component that resists the flow of electric current, creating a voltage drop. It is used to limit the current in a circuit, divide voltage, or set a specific current level.

2. Capacitor :
   A capacitor is a two-terminal passive component that stores electrical energy in an electric field. It is used to smooth out fluctuations in power supply, filter signals, and store energy for later use.

3. Diode :
   A diode is a semiconductor device that allows current to flow in one direction only. It is mainly used for rectification, protecting circuits from reverse current, and in signal processing.

4. IC (Integrated Circuit) :
   An integrated circuit (IC) is a collection of electronic components (transistors, diodes, resistors, etc.) integrated onto a single piece of semiconductor material. ICs are used to perform a wide range of functions, from amplification to complex calculations in processors.

5. LED (Light Emitting Diode) :
   An LED is a diode that emits light when current passes through it. LEDs are energy-efficient and widely used in displays, indicator lights, and lighting applications.

6. Transistor :
   A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify or switch electronic signals and electrical power. It is one of the fundamental components in modern electronics, found in everything from computers to audio systems.

These components are essential in almost all electronic circuits and serve various important functions depending on their type and application.
